Summary of this Book...
In Watchers you will find the child like wonder you thought you had lost still gripped firmly within your heart. You will see the possibilities of our future envisioned through the imagination of the author. You will at once weep for joy and cringe in fear at what "Could happen" with recumbent DNA and animal experimentation. You will run in terror for your life with Travis, Nora and Einstein and love every minute of it. But ultimately you will stop running and fight for love and for possibilities.
This type of Book is good for...
Everyone. What child doesn't dream of conversing with animals. What adult could resist his faithful companion and best friend to also be his greatest confidant. One who is pure of heart, non judgmental and loves you unconditionally. I edited a copy of Watchers when my daughter was 10 and read it to her, cutting out the most gruesome parts and the worst of the language. She has kept that copy and will read it to her kids.
I especially liked...
The heart Koontz put into Einstein. It is what everyone sees when they look into the eyes of a dog.
I didn't like...
I hated that I cried and felt compassion in the end for The Outsider.I didn't want to feel anything for "it" but I cried like a baby when he said; "Mickey, Mickey!"
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
When I finished reading Watchers, and after I stopped sobbing, I wanted to tell everyone I knew about this wonderful book, and I did tell whoever would listen. I even bought several copies and left them in my car to give to anyone I saw with a Golden Retriever or anyone who struck me as a dog lover.
This Book made me feel...

That's just the point, This book made me FEEL. I felt fear, apprehension, confusion, hope, joy, sadness, anger and Love. My emotions ran the entire gammut, but the overall feeling in the end was pure wide eyed wonder.
The author of this Book...
Dean R. Koontz amazes with the possibilities of "What If." His imagination has left me spellbound time and again.
I recommend this Book because...
You couldn't find a better page turner. It will leave you breathless and on the edge of your seat. Be sure you begin this book at the beginning of a weekend or have sick leave to spare because you will not want to put it down.
Further Comments...
In my family room at home is a small plaque. It reads "Home Is Where The Wienies Are" If you know what it means we immediately have a conversation starter, if not, I give you the book!
