Summary of this Book...
Zen is like a pristine area of nature untouched by human hands. An area where true serentity lives. A natural beauty of transparent and everlasting harmony between life and the physical laws of the universe.

No matter who we are or what we do, we can find and maintain a state of inner peace. This serenity within can be cultivated over time and with practice. We need only focus on self, on breathing and on the here and now.

Being Zen means looking at life and situations with calm and detachment. Being Zen means allowing the immutable laws of nature to manifest themselves in everyday life. And by being Zen, we can reflect, like a mirror, the light of superior spiritual states.

"Being Zen" was written to assist those who wish to cultivate the beingness of Zen in everyday life.
This type of Book is good for...
A quick read and a brief study into the Zen of life. Good for sticking in your purse or a pocket, kind of a read on the go.
I especially liked...
The poetry and quotes of past philosophers and religious gurus. The short Aesop like stories are particulary fascinating and insightful.
I didn't like...
Some of the pictures didn't seem to go with corresponding pages of poetry.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Try the short recipes of Zen cooking.
This Book made me feel...
A little more at peace with the world. Chaos and calm seem to coincide with my view of this book, it has an appreciation for the nature of all things.
The author of this Book...
Is Herve' Desbois. A poet of cause and consequence to say the least.
I recommend this Book because...
It's a short but fulfilling read.
I don't recommend this Book because...
If your not into Eastern thought or philosophy your not likely to enjoy it.
