Like many of Richard Laymon's other stories, the Travelling Vampire Show is an extremely captivating and mesmerising story about three young teenagers (Dwight, Slim & Rusty) who wake up one day to find the "The Travelling Vampire Show" in their town. While the show is for adults only (18+), the three of them are determined to see the show no matter how many strange events seem to happen, especially to them. This coming of age novel is not very long and can easily be read in one sitting. It is filled with suspense, mystery, murder, love / lust, friendship and best of all horror. Richard Laymon is great at keeping the reader emersed in his stories until the very end, without giving away too many clues. This story does not disappoint. This would have to be at the top of my list of Richard Laymon's best novels. | ||
