Summary of this Book...
Rebellious Dark Hunter Zarek is in trouble. After a situation gone bad in New Orleans, and 900 years of exile in the frozen north, he has been sentenced to death by Artemis. Luckily, he has a formidable ally in Acheron, a mysterious man with god-like powers who oversees the Dark Hunters. Acheron convinces Artemis to give Zarek a fair hearing, and sends justice nymph Astrid to Earth to judge him.

Astrid is wary of Zarek, but cannot escape the feeling there is more to him than meets the eye. She enters his dreams and memories, discovering how painful his life has been, and vows to prove his life is worth saving.

Along the way, rebel assasin Thanatos searches for Zarek, determined to kill him, and anyone he might care for.

For the first time in his life, Zarek finds something worth dying for in Astrid, and discovers that love truly is the most powerful force in the universe.

Further Comments...
I had heard so many wonderful things about Sherylin Kenyon before I picked up this novel that I truly expected a little more from her. I did enjoy the story, and her characters, but was surprised by her style.

POV is always stressed and most 'experts' tell you to stay in one per chapter. I've always enjoyed doing the exact opposite, as I'm a fan of knowing exactly how each character feels at any given moment, but have made a concentrated effort to remedy that over the past few years as I seek publication. Yet, Ms. Kenyon's POV is all over the map, changing sometimes from paragraph to paragraph. Her style, in this book, reminds me of some of my own older work and I am left with that 'how the heck did she get published like this' feeling.

That little peeve aside, I thought it was an entertaining book and I really enjoyed her dark bad boy hero, Zarek. The intimate scenes were written well, and very erotic.
