Summary of this CDs & Vinyl...
Opening with 'Sweet Sacrifice' Amy Lee's band (Evanescence) sets the par well above standard with this fantastic Gothic anthem. A mixture of heavy guitar fueled songs will light melancholic ballads keep this album alive through intense emotions such as anger, bitterness and solitude. The Open Door however is much more mature and profound than Fallen, with more of the songs being meaningful.
This type of CDs & Vinyl is good for...
This type of music is good for either rocking out to when in a bad mood and wanting to express that through music and evenely when feeling down and wanting to procrastinate on the past. The rhythm of each song lures you into the lyrics and demands a reaction out of you.
I especially liked...
Sweet sacrifice and Call Me When Your Sober are my favourite tracks offering addictive lyrics and enticing beats that sooner or later get you singing along with Amy Lee's brilliant voice. Weight of the World is another great track for the band that resembles more of the tracks from the debut album and Lithium resembles My Immortal, but delivers in a new bolder way.
I didn't like...
Cloud Nine was too confusing for me with Amy Lee's voice sounding more like a drone than anything else and the guitar music blending with the haunting chants do not mix well at all.
When I finished n/a this CDs & Vinyl I wanted to...
Smile! The album really sets its mark on you both emotionally and physically as you block the rest of the world out.
This CDs & Vinyl made me feel...
A sense of accomplishment comes through after you listen to all of the tracks as The Open Door is like an emotional journey but i have to admit i felt angry at times as it forces you to remember your past as well.
The n/a of this CDs & Vinyl...
Amy Lee as always delivers gorgeous vocals to a blend of successful tracks and it is her journey you follow as you embark on the album.
I recommend this CDs & Vinyl because...
If you are a fan of Evanescence then this will not be a let down from the other amazing album Fallen. This is not like your typical commercial slush that pop stars rant out and like i've mentioned before its more of a journey that requires you to relax and get heated up at the same time.
I don't recommend this CDs & Vinyl because...
If you liked their previous tracks but not a fan of Gothic mood be wary of this album as it hits you in face completely different than Fallen and it may be too overwhelming for some.
