Summary of this Book...
This is the story of how Eragon, a regular old farm boy, finds a blue stone that turns out to be a dragon's egg. Of course, this brings forth problems of people coming to track him down and all that kind of bad stuff for Eragon.
This type of Book is good for...
A person who enjoys fantasy readings, of course. Who doesn't mind length with a Novel either.
I especially liked...
I did enjoy this Novel, though, truthfully this was the first ever "dragon" story I have read. Since then, I've been pretty interested in other dragon stories though I still haven't read too many. So, I didn't have anything to compare this to since it was the first dragon story I've read.
I didn't like...
There were some things that didn't fit and I didn't like that. I thought that the female elf he is interested in that it was strange that she was out for so long and you truly never got too big of a look at her. So, later on when he still does like her, you still don't have a good enough intial look into why he would, who she is, and she tends to be rather unemotional too, or doesn't like showing them, which is how the elves are supposed to be. But I think this stunts her with us relating to her because of this.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read more and read the next book, see what happened next.
This Book made me feel...
Laugh, smile, and a few things that Saphira said. Wonder what was going to happen next and engaged in some of the characters.
I recommend this Book because...
I really did enjoy it, and wanted to read more. It got me interested in Dragon stories where I never really thought of reading that before. I'm a fan of it and will be buying the 3rd one it comes out, so I did enjoy it a lot even though some things may be weak, need to be explained more, or Ergaon just falls into that trap of, "Boy gets gift, has to go away, family gets killed, says those words, "I didn't ask for this" and that kind of cliche with the kind of story it is. But, for the weakness occasionally in it, I still enjoyed it a lot and will keep on reading on to find out more.
I don't recommend this Book because...
Well, there are some things here and there which I pointed about with this story, but, I still would recommend it.
Further Comments...
Like I said, this story does have weaknesses or other things here and there, but it did get me to laugh, smile, and react to the story, which is a big thing for an author to do, as well as care for the characters too. The one I felt weakest for was the female elf Eragon is interested in, because I just can't relate to her as much and she seems very cold, I just don't understand her. But, overall, I'd recommend reading it.
