This book is fascinating - it really does give you an insight into some of our dark history as well as having a fantastic fantasy part to make it into a real book. It explores the ancient stories of vampires and brings them into the modern day world.
It's well worth a read!

It got quite confusing at the beginning when you didn't know who was who but after a few chapters it sorted iself out.

Elizabeth Kostova is an excellent author. She inserts every detail and creates such a fabulous image in your mind.

has all the elements a book really needs. it would suit anyone as it has no particular genre although it pushes towards mystery.

Some bits are tedious but it really is worth getting through those cause you need them to understand the book.

please pick it up and read it. I bought it with no reviews and i'm glad i did - it's my book of the year!!
