Summary of this Book...
The gods have charged an unlikely group of six to form an army and eradicate the evil that threatens all of humanity. The fate of many worlds is at stake. In this final installment of the Circle Trilogy, we see through the eyes of the scholarly princess Moira of Geall and Cian McKenna, the one who is lost. Their attraction is irresistable and they both know that giving in will eventually break their hearts. But what is such grief next to the possibility of becoming casualties in this war that they have been chosen to wage against the formiddable vampire queen?
This type of Book is good for...
Lovers of fantasy, horror, romance and humor. I found this book to be a good mixture of those.
I especially liked...
The growing confidence of Moira, as a woman and also in the way that she handled her responsibilities. I also loved the banter between all of the characters, but Cian was my favorite. He was clearly portrayed as very sexy and charming, but it was his wit that drew me the most, even when he dished out insults. This book is the type that makes me chuckle out loud in some places, which would certainly earn some odd glances from anyone who happens to be around. I could quote many things that amused me from Cian and a few other characters, but I don't want to spoil any surprises. One thing that I liked is that it appealed to my religious tendencies; crosses were used as talismans against evil, but none of the characters were portrayed as Christians. I thought that was a bit unusual.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read the trilogy again.
This Book made me feel...
A plethora of emotions.
The author of this Book...
Nora Roberts. Her style is different from what I am used to. She tends to not use "and" in places where you would expect that word to be. Such as "Glenna ground flourite, turquoise, set them aside." I don't see it as a serious problem, this habit seemed to make the book flow differently. Her website is http://www.noraroberts.com/
I recommend this Book because...
It demonstrates that the power of love, light and hope is always stronger; even in the darkest of times.
Further Comments...
Overall, I really liked the entire trilogy, but this book was my favorite - no doubt because of Cian and Moira. All of the main characters were well developed, each with a strong personality in their own right. Despite the sadness, there was a great deal to be happy about. One thing I'm not too sure of was "the storyteller" in the beginning and the end (he was in all three books). Supposedly, he was telling the story to children and a great deal of the content just did not seem to be fit for their virgin ears, but maybe that's just me.
