"Home" is a memoir of Julie Andrews. The novel starts with her birth and takes the reader through her parents' separation and divorce. Once her mother remarries, Julie's step-father pushes her towards a singing career when he recognizes she has a fantastic voice for her age. The book takes the reader through Julie's teenage years and ends with her success in Mary Poppins.

Julie Andrews fans who want to learn more about the singer.

The book is written in a very easy, conversational style that made me feel that Julie Andrews was talking directly to me.

How it ended. I wanted to get Julie's thoughts and impressions on The Sound of Music and her developing career, but I suppose that's for another book.

it's very revealing and while a memoir, there is historical value to it.

When Julie's parents divorced, Julie goes to live with her mother, which surprised me. After all, her mother wasn't around much as she was out touring (with Julie's future step-father) I was curious as to why she didn't stay with her father who clearly adored her. After all, her father took her brother. The stunning revelation why is revealed in the middle of the book and it was truly a surprise.
