"Charlie Wilson's War" is delightfully entertaining and shockingly true! This movie reveals the behind-the-scenes events, orchestrated by Texas Congressman Wilson, in his passionate insistence that America offer assistance to Afghanistan after the 1980s Soviet invasion.

Without giving too much away, I'll just say that the movie left me pondering whether we blew or opportunity to avoid the war in Iraq.

Under Mike Nichols' direction, Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts don't act their parts; they become Charlie Wilson and Joanne Herring.
