This is one of two favorite oprea pieces!

This is a story about Beauty and the Beast and the Knight in Shining Armor all together. It has the additional pieces of the "crone" in the form of beautiful Miranda Richardson who knows all secrets and tells none, and it has the best musical score I have heard outside the Broadway play.

This is the story of a young girl desperate to know her father and thinks she is being trained be an angel of music, who really isn't an angel at all, but a twisted, brutalized man in love who will stop at nothing to control the voice he helped create.

On the other side of the coin is the handsome Prince who will stop at nothing to protect the Beauty from the folly her own imagination will send her into.

Who will win? In a way both of them do.

The score is great. The imagery for this movie, the settings are out of this world. Highly recommend for a good movie night when you want something of substance and artistic accomplishment to enjoy!
