In a world where poems have fallen to the wayside, it is so encouraging to read a collection of poetry that recognizes and encourages emerging poets, artists often ignored by society. I've enjoyed all the books in the "Best New Poets ..." series; this is no exception. I think all the poems have merit (as difficult it is to pick these "best" poems). However, my favorites included poems by Amanda Chiado, Megan Moriarty and Kate Sweeney, poets I will certainly keep an eye out for in the future.

Nice work by editor Kim Addonizio, and I look forward to 2010's Best Poets.
