Summary of this Book...
This is Book one of the Tree Tetralogy.
On the way to an orphanage, 3 orphans find themselves lost in the woods knocking on the door of a giant tree house – home to a group of beautiful dryads who are in dire need of the help these 3 tinkers can give them.
This is a story of good versus evil with the odds, of course, stacked against the good side.
The dryads and other faeries are beautiful, loving and caring creatures. It’s the portrayal of their enemies that concerns me.
The enemies are known as the cloven – these include animals such as rams, with the two most powerful enemies being a dragon and the King Stag.
I’m not sure why anyone would cast the King Stag, a manifestation of the God, as the ultimate bad guy. I must say, I was a bit disappointed with the choice of enemies.
Also, although it wasn’t too overtly stated, all of the dryad/faeries appeared to be female with the cloven being male, another facet I was uncomfortable with.
It was a cute story about 3 unlikley heroes saving the day, and changing their own lives in the process. I’m interested to see what Book Two brings
