This is mystery and suspense best I could tell. I have a rule that if I don't get interested after 50 pages I don't read on. This is a book I read for 60 pages and couldn't get into.

the fact that the author jumps around so much at the beginning of the book. I am not sure if there is a prequel to this, but I didn't get a feel for the characters or the settings.

like I'd wasted my time.

must be able to write better than this to have sold so many books. Maybe I just picked a lemon.

I did not read beyond 60 pages. Maybe it gets better, but I felt like I didn't care to read more and waste more time.

I was very disappointed because I was hoping I would really like this author. I wouldn't read anything else she's written unless I get it in trade and someone recommends it. Steer clear of Catherine Coulter!
