Well known firearms photographer has produced an excellent book detailing the cap and ball revolvers of the mid 1850s and the development of the modern reproductions that we love to shoot.

Anyone interested in historical handguns will love this book.

The photography in thi book is amazing. The standard of the illustraions is such that it is worth buying the book for them alone.

Not so much didn't like, but didnt consider of any real value, was a price listing for the various reproduction cap and ball revolvers available. The usefulness of that feature is negligible, given price fluctuations and regional differences. The half dozen pages dedicated to this feature could well have been filled with more beautiful photos.

I wanted to grab out my old Remington, and some powder, caps and a handful of bullets and make some smoke!

The author, Dennis Adler is a well known photographer of firearms, whose work regularly appears in "Guns and ammo" magazine. He is also well known for his work with classic cars.

It is simply an excellent book, beautifully illustrated.
