Witness to Love has the canvas of a romance with crime and social issues brushed in. Two very different people, Lena and Ryan, fall in love, but they have to overcome tremendous obstacles, most of those coming from outside of them and some from their own selves. The storyline has many twists and turns, several of them unexpected. As the story progresses, each problem is solved, and by the end of the story, all loose ends are tied.

What separates the lovers are their social classes, other men and women who are after them, their different styles of living, and the confines of a strict belief system. What unites them is their love, and it is hot, as the love scenes sizzle.

The main characters are well defined and each go through some change in their personalities even though their inner selves stay intact. The one person who goes through an inner redemption is a young woman named Cynthia. Other than that, villains stay villains and good guys on each side stay good guys.

On the plus side, the storytelling is exquisite as this is Kiya’s forte, and the story is exciting and gripping, so much so that this reader could not put the book down willingly.

On the minus side, well, there are no minus sides. With some situations, a character or two who weren’t mentioned before suddenly turn up to help solve the problem at hand, but I don’t consider this a negative since these are integrated so well into the plot.

Overall, this is a highly satisfying story to read, and I hope, many will put Witness to Love in their reading lists.

It is gripping, exciting, and in a subtle way, the story is full of social commentaries.

I rated the usefulness of this book, also, because it showed me the positive side of a religious group, which was "pesky" in my earlier point of view.

I read this novel on Kindle, as my eyes need electronic media where I can adjust the fonts, but I'm sure the book will be even more satisfying to those who can enjoy the print media.
