A Dutch explorer and a French intellectual head into the Cambodian wilderness in search of valuable artifacts. Needless to say, they encounter quite a bit of resistance on the way.

Brooding over afterwards.

The rich depictions of the jungle, and the brilliant way the author sets the mood.

It's a bit verbose at times, and it drags in certain parts.

was a very interesting character from France. He wrote many books and played a large part in politics. Andre Malraux, worth looking up.
I recommend this Book because...
It is at once action packed and existially influenced. Action are proceeded by heart felt reflection. The description is sensual, often told through the five senses of the main characters.

This book has an interesting mix of philosophy and adventure.
