Summary of this DVD...
This movie is a kind of screwball comedy. To escape her stepfather, a girl and her friend go to NY City to try and meet millionaires to marry. Her big thing is she is a good girl who wants to get married. But she is drawn to these old guy millionaires, but falls in love with a young guy who turns out to be a millionaire's son. Since the Dad is one of the ones she played up to, he is opposed to the match. Comedy ensues. It is dumb, but Jean Harlow is always enjoyable to watch.
I especially liked...
Jean Harlow and Patsy Kelly.
I didn't like...
Franchot Tone. He is not usually believable to me as a love interest for Jean Harlow, but they seem to pair her with him a lot. I guess he was a stock guy at MGM.
Further Comments...
I am trying to see as much of Jean Harlow's work as I can. This was cute as far as she was concerned, but the rest of the casting was odd to me. They just didn't work in the parts, especially Franchot Tone and Lionel Barrymore. A lot of overacting went on here.
