Summary of this Book...
This is a guide book going into Season 3 of the TV Series, Downton Abbey. It has a lot of useful background information about the time period and the characters that supplements the watching of the show. If you do not watch the show, I do not think the book would be of interest. It is a companion to watching Season 3.
This type of Book is good for...
people like Hooves and Mr. Hooves who are hooked on Downton Abbey.
I especially liked...
the stuff about Mr. Carson because he is my favorite character. I was also interested to read that homosexual behavior was illegal and Thomas could be imprisoned for some of his antics. Given his early scenes with the Duke, this could be a problemmatic situation given that he is currently the valet to the Earl of Grantham.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
watch season 3 and so I am.
This Book made me feel...
like I know more about the time period. Downton Abbey has sparked an interest in World War I and its aftermath so the book is something that I am referring to and enjoying.
I recommend this Book because...
if you enjoy the series, you will probably enjoy the book.
