I started watching this as I was looking for somethings with Brendan Coyle, who plays Mr. John Bstes on Downton Abbey. Mr. Hooves and I both enjoy his work.

This charming series is set in England in the 1890's. It is about a farming village (Lark Rise) and the town of Candleford which is about 8 miles away. A young girl from Lark Rise (Laura Timmins) moves to Candleford to work for her Aunt, Dorcas Lane, who runs the post office. There is a lot of conflict in this first season between the city and the down. Brendan Coyle plays Robert Timmins, Laura's pa.

anyone who likes a heartwarming series set in the 1890's in England.

Thomas Brown, the mail delivery fellow who is obsessed with the Bible. He is pretty funny.

the Pratt sisters. They get on my nerves.

is entertaining, especially Brendan Coyle as the strong opinioned pa of Laura.
