Summary of this CDs & Vinyl...
A score for the upcoming Broadway production of the same name, The Last Ship, is not what every Sting fan may have expected, but it holds wonderful treasure. It is intriguing to listen to Sting put on an Irish accent, and portray a variety of characters, only accompanied in some of the tracks by others.

I feels wrong for it be categorized as Pop.
This type of CDs & Vinyl is good for...
Listening to undisturbed and best without distraction -- if you have a streak of casting director in you -- might find yourself imagining vocalists to be in the future Broadway cast recording!
I especially liked...
A particular trio of the songs -- elegantly interlaced. "Language of Birds" alludes to a man's soul cage built from the tools he is given. Nice, as Sting's prior album was titled, Soul Cages. The Language of Birds track is immediately followed by "A Practical Arrangement" which I feel has the finesse of Sting's older and popular, "An Englishman in New York." The track I Love Her But She Loves Someone Else carries in the thread of "A Practical Arrangement." So, perhaps you see the skill with which Sting manages his musical story like a sailor's litany of knots. And both the initial parable turned to song "The Last Ship," as well as it's completing reprise are special as well. The keyboard and orchestration work at the reprise of "The Last Ship" is lovely, and it tells of a "trip" for all of Europe's dignitaries to Newcastle shipyards, which perhaps is the port we all embark from on the final journey...yes, it goes there, reaching that deep.
When I finished n/a this CDs & Vinyl I wanted to...
Read through the lyrics -- I always love his word craft.
I recommend this CDs & Vinyl because...
It clearly means something wonderful and wholesome to Gordon Sumner, who became the musician Sting. It is a homecoming that he has certainly earned, I hope he also has plans to produce the play in the U.K., it only seems right.
Further Comments...
The deluxe edition is a couple dollars cheaper on iTunes than on Amazon.com

The Deluxe edition has 5 extra tracks which begin immediately after the reprise of track 12 The Last Ship
