This ten year old Disney movie is based on a true story. I got it because of a recommendation of eyestar~* .

It is the story of Vincent Papele an ordinary guy who lost his job and had his wife leave him all just about the same time. With that going on, he was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and played pickup football with his friends.

Dick Vermeil became the coach of the Eagles and held open tryouts. Papele came to the tryouts and not only made the team, but went on to play for them for three seasons.

This is kind of a Cinderella story. Papele is motivated by a nasty note his ex-wife left him saying he would never accomplish anything in life. He ends up meeting a much nicer lady who he eventually marries and settles down with.

Mark Wahlberg, Greg Kinnear and Michael Rispoli. I am a big Rispoli fan and was delighted to see that he was in the film.

We got this on mailing disk from Netflix and really enjoyed it a lot. The performances are excellent and there are a lot of familiar faces in the movie. Very nice story!
