Justine Hoffman, a business woman, a friend, happy-go-lucky gal, has never experienced love in her life. She keeps a secret from her friends and one night, she had enough of feeling empty and wanted to see what it would feel like to fall in love.

She broke the laws, the laws of witchcraft, in order to break a curse cast upon her as a child, just to have a chance at love.

Jason Black, a mystery all on his own, comes into town to buy a property to build and expand his company business, meets Justine and is intrigued by her. While Jason has secrets of his own, and however private and secretive, he feels the need to get to know Justine better... knowing his plan is to betray her at the end.

A bit different from the rest of the series, I found myself drawn to the nature of these two characters and held my breath until the end to see the outcome - which was a surprise even to me.

What I didn't realize was, the Friday Harbor contains a total of five books in the series, and I've skipped the main two. With that said, those two are on my to-read list.

While I was disappointed that there weren't any Nolan brothers available for the heroine of this book, I also knew that she needed someone outside of the Friday Harbor realm in order to make her heart flutter. A heartfelt book with a kindred soul makes for one heck of a story.
