Summary of this DVD...
This 1936 movie picks up where The Thin Man (1934) left off. Nick and Nora Charles are returning by train to California. As soon as they get home, they are sucked into a family squabble that turns deadly.

Then it is up to them to solve the murder. This has a lot of at home stuff that includes Asta, their wonderful dog, who "helps" solve the murder in his own way. Asta has family troubles of his own with a wife (Mrs. Asta) and a whole litter of pups to manage. He's got his paws full.

There is a list of suspects and lots of action and suspense.

I liked this film better than the first one. Powell and Loy work well together and the humor and fast paced dialogue and steady drinking are all there. Nick's interactions with his troublesome in-laws are very humorous and entertaining.

I could see why they continued making films in this series and look forward to watching the next installment. Very enjoyable! And, this one features a very young Jimmy Stewart in a somewhat surprising role.
