Summary of this Book...
Back of Book:
Hurricane season begins early and rumbles all summer long, well into September. Often people's lives reflect the weather and The Hurricane Sisters is just such a story.
Once again New York Times bestselling author Dorothea Benton Frank takes us deep into the heart of her magical South Carolina Lowcountry on a tumultuous journey filled with longings, disappointments, and, finally, a road toward happiness that is hard-earned. There we meet three generations of women buried in secrets. The determined matriarch, Maisie Pringle, at eighty, is a force to be reckoned with because she will have the final word on everything, especially when she's dead wrong. Her daughter, Liz, is caught up in the classic maelstrom of being middle-age and in an emotionally demanding career that will eventually open all their eyes to a terrible truth. And Liz's beautiful twenty-something daughter, Ashley, whose dreamy ambitions of her unlikely future keeps them all at odds.

I especially liked...
The authors writing style. Her vivid descriptions engages all of the senses to paint a wonderful picture of a place I hope to visit.
I didn't like...
- Plot holes
- Poor character development
- Predictable
- Unbelievable

Much of this book just didn't make sense to me. Each character seems to be a contradiction. It was like two people wrote this book and couldn't agree on anything. The only thing I didn't see coming was the cheesy stereotyping of all the players.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
I quickly grew bored with this book and rushed to finish it.
This Book made me feel...
Frustration!
Honestly, I feel like the only reason this book was put out was for some kind of Battered Woman campaign. Not that there's anything wrong with doing fundraising and awareness for such a heartbreaking cause.

I don't recommend this Book because...
Honestly, I feel like the only reason this book was put out was for some kind of Battered Woman campaign. Not that there's anything wrong with doing fundraising and awareness for such a heartbreaking cause. However, as a fan of this author, I generally devour her new books as soon as they are released because I just can't get enough. For the first time, I was disappointed and forced myself to finish.
