Summary of this Book...
This is a mildly funny kind-of-cozy mystery set in Virginia and featuring the super-organized Meg Langslow and some of her kooky family.

Set in the winter, just before Christmas, in Virginia, a group of owl scientists and a few seemingly random other guests get snowed in at their convention at a posh hhotel during an unusual blizzard.

The least liked character dies and the mystery is to find out who killed him. Among those stranded, only Meg, her doctor/medical examiner father, and police department cousin Horace have experience solving murders so they get creative with the resources at hand.
This type of Book is good for...
People who like cozy mysteries but can handle a bit more detail than they tend to entail. People who appreciate offbeat characters. People who want a holiday-themed laugh.
I especially liked...
The holiday celebrations embraced everyone in the hotel. The kids' ingenuity, the owl themed Christmas carols, Meg's character, her parents and grandfather and kids.. basically her whole family. Ekaterina ... actually I guess I liked all of the wholesome and good-hearted yet offbeat characters.
I didn't like...
That I figured out the killer (though not the motive) early on in the book. I guess after reading 25 previous ones in the series it's easier to figure out where the author is going. Also, sometimes it was a bit dry.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
Make up a new Christmas carol.
This Book made me feel...
Like part of a loving but unusual family.
The n/a of this Book...
"DONNA ANDREWS is a winner of the Agatha, Anthony, and Barry Awards, a Romantic Times Award for best first novel, and four Lefty and two Toby Bromberg awards for funniest mystery. She is a member of MWA, Sisters in Crime, and the Private Investigators and Security Association. Andrews lives in Reston, Virginia. Owl Be Home for Christmas is the 26th book and sixth Christmas mystery in the Meg Lansglow series." Information in quotes in this section is from Amazon
I recommend this Book because...
It was an interesting read... and humorous at times I laughed out loud at least once.
I don't recommend this Book because...
It's not for people who want full on action and riveting suspense the whole way through.
Further Comments...
I borrowed the hardcover version of this book from my local library.

I think the books earlier on in the series were better but I like Meg and her family so much I'll probably continue to read these books as long as Donna Andrews continues to write them.
