Summary of this Book...
Note: I listened to the audio book. Though if you are a reader, the Kindle version is free with Kindle Unlimited, so it's totally worth a read!

I thought this was a really creative book idea! Sure, there have been other books where a person is transported into a game, but in this one, I felt like I was almost playing the game with him to some extent. He'd pull up his character sheet and read off his stats and such. He'd cast a spell to see what level the approaching monster was. It was great!

Anyway, the basic summary of this book is a not so nice guy who was about to die in real life gets sent to a role playing game world and has to learn how to survive there and decides to become a better person.
This type of Book is good for...
People looking for something different or interested in stories about gaming.
I especially liked...
I especially liked his snarky, sarcastic attitude, especially in the beginning. He reminds me of the main character in Jim Butcher's series, "The Dresden Files." I also liked how I felt like I was sort of almost playing along with him. I also thought the narrator of the audio book did a great job!
I didn't like...
I didn't care for the cursing, though to be fair, he helped a loan shark recoup debts, so it's not like he went to Sunday school. The language fit the character, but I still didn't like it. I will say it wasn't pervasive, though and if you can tolerate any, you can probably tolerate this book. Also, I thought he pulled up his character sheet a bit too much. Well, it's just that he read through the whole thing and it got kind of old. Now, to be fair, that is probably because if I was actually reading it, I could just skip through to the interesting parts, but I couldn't do that since I was listening on an audio book, but that's really all I have to complain about.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
Get the next one. Actually, I got the next book before I even finished this one because I knew I would be travelling and would want to listen to this. I really like this series!
This Book made me feel...
Amused, entertained, and very glad I chose this series. It also made me miss playing World of Warcraft, so not sure that's totally a good thing. lol
The n/a of this Book...
Eric Ugland is a talented writer who makes stories come alive with interesting details and fun dialogue.
I recommend this Book because...
If you enjoy sarcastic characters (though he does tone it down later), computer games, or fantasy/adventure books, I think you'll really like this one. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
