The subtitle says it all: "A Mostly Comic Memoir of a Muslim Arab American Woman Just Trying to Fit in." It's a bit of humor, a bit of cultural studies, a bit of the author's personal journey.

Anyone who enjoys learning about other cultures or the experiences of minorities in the United States would probably find this book really interesting.

The fact that I know the author personally (we worked together for a number of years) and still learned things about her experiences that I didn't know.

There were a few too many comedic asides that felt a little forced.

Sad that I didn't get to know the author better when I had the opportunity. She's a really interesting and engaging personality.

It was a unique perspective for a memoir.

I really enjoyed this book for its wit and its insight into the unique perspective of someone who grew up in a completely different world and with a completely different set of experiences than I grew up with. The anecdotes were great, and the whole book was well written and engaging. I'd definitely be interested in reading something else by this author.
