This type of Book is good for...
Readers who are not squeamish and want to be brought into the world of war and politics with raw scenes and realist up close experiences would become involved in this true story.
I especially liked...
The details of every even showed me life which otherwise would have remained hidden. I learned the details about a person disillusioned after the truth hit hime squarely in the face. I could see, hear and feel the emotions.
I didn't like...
It was difficult experiencing through emotional words that jumped off the pages the scenes of his hospitalization and how he was treated during these times and the times he went public and told his side of the story to the TV crews.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
I can relate to his experiences using a wheelchair because I also am a wheelchair user. I wanted to do this review so that people who wanted to know about history and how Vietnam vets were treated could get an up close and personal view through the eyes of someone when went there and did that.
This Book made me feel...
I felt the veterans should have been treated as human beings and nor as trash that should be thrown away or at least not neglected.
The n/a of this Book...
The writing style kept me interested. It gave me the insight into a persons experience in a way that I could feel, see, understand, and remember.
I recommend this Book because...
Reading this book took me through each step of the writers life as if I were watching it like a movie and also as if I was experiencing the events and emotions.
I don't recommend this Book because...
If you are squeamish, read with caution, but if you can manage to keep being squish at bay, it is a valuable experience worth having.
Further Comments...
This book is full of action and adventure, a roller coster ride through life with emotions flowing like electricity. It is a story of defeat of patriotism and a renewed focus to expose the hidden truth. It is a story of humanity over coming challenges and gaining purpose.
