We live much of life amid unique choices. Joy is anchored in The One beyond our life.
There are times when solitude is better than society, and silence is wiser than speech. We should be better Christians if we were more alone, waiting upon God, and gathering through meditation on His Word spiritual strength for labour in his service. We ought to muse upon the things of God, because we thus get the real nutriment out of them. . . . Why is it that some Christians, although they hear many sermons, make but slow advances in the divine life? Because they neglect their closets, and do not thoughtfully meditate on God's Word. They love the wheat, but they do not grind it; they would have the corn, but they will not go forth into the fields to gather it; the fruit hangs upon the tree, but they will not pluck it; the water flows at their feet, but they will not stoop to drink it. From such folly deliver us, O Lord. . . .
― Charles Spurgeon

Our anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strengths.
― C. H. Spurgeon

Hope itself is like a star- not to be seen in the sunshine of prosperity, and only to be discovered in the night of adversity.
― Charles Haddon Spurgeon

If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.
― Charles Spurgeon

A Bible that’s falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.
― Charles Spurgeon

Visit many good books, but live in the Bible.
― Charles Spurgeon

When your will is God's will, you will have your will.

We sing a hymn to praise His Name.
We give His Glory all
the thanks for He has borne our blame
and saved us through His call.

Dr. Seuss brought us pleasure in playing with words
through his whimsical Sneetches, not realness like birds.
Unique thoughts like his breakfast of green eggs and ham
beats endurable snacks of fried ice cream and clam.

flying fowl are seen
letter "V" against the wind
south from Canada

The patterns from what Shakespeare wrote anon
all shape the souls of men in bygone days.
Mercutio quoth his life was nearly gone.
"A grave man" he would be next sun's displays.

What cliffs we climb in life sublime
of making rhymes so swift betimes,
but hope so rare won't cause to stare
as rest we there in His great care.

"I am the way, the life, and all the truth,"
declares the One, Who made creation ring.
Available to ev'ry man from youth,
He causes hearts to thrive and fully sing.

The Day beyond this life we'll fully know,
the One, Who carries us through all these days,
and there within His Presence ever grow
His trophies for His Glory's own display.

Salvation dwells within God's loving heart.
His Truth begins Salvation's loving trek.
The cross did end what Sin's end once did start.
This blessing brought from Earth's first awful wreck.

I Am is life and in Him live we, too,
within Him now, and when these days are through.

A squirrel alerts of family safety needs.
A goose now honks to show his kin the way.
A dog barks loudly. Now, the shadow heeds.
The chirping birds have many sweets to say.

The gutt'ral cheeps of mockingbird demands.
The cruising cars are going evermore.
What myriad songs the mockingbird by plan
regales his daily audience with more.

The heavy-engined sportscar revs and runs.
Our AC Unit pops itself to "On."
Each silent light roars in the ears as done,
while cloak of night descends the world upon.

The geese from Canada are honking past
as night ascends the choir's stage at last.

The stalwart watchers in the verdant yard
all tow'r above the blooms and man alike.
Recalling truths once writ by ancient bard
"The rose still sweet would be though named a 'pike'."

The pine trees stand a long time in their place
as angel barons, o'er the master's realm.
As sights of life to mark the unseen face,
the Lord's own servants steer this earthly helm.

The pinkish face of other-nam-ed rose,
awestruck as gallant, regal soldiers stand.
Their peace secured by watchful, waiting those,
who keep their post, according to God's Plan.

The Lord entrusts the keeping of our days
to sentinels, who serve, though naught displays.

1. Internal rhymes seem so sublime
when playing with our words.
Eschew the doubt laid all about
and fly with little birds.

2. To link we now the rhyming thought
taught truly with this lovely song,
we fill the day with words we say.
Play joyous for the growing throng.

3. We lift the cup to interlace the rhymings in the middle.
The lovely soul we'll ne'er efface by darkness of a riddle.
However will we fully speak to those, who need a clue?
We'll leave the crumbs, that birdies seek to trap them e'er we're through.

4. Time to search for music at the first.
Rhyme the words beginning ev'ry line.
Suffer little ones to daily come.
Tougher finding thoughts to rhyme this way.

5. Compounding the rhyme
is tougher with time,
but thyme that we pound
doth quickly confound.

6. Apocopated
exploding the pate,
since almost the rhyme
confuses the timing.

7. Amphisbaenic. What a word!
Cineabsihpma, the water's draw,
but better yet, we'll find a way
to right the plane, that's winded yaw.

8. My sight can help me rhyme enough
to finish poems alway through,
but prose-ish writers are quite tough,
whose names deflect the rhymes I Thoreau. *Wink*

"1 Lord, how are they increased that trouble me!
many are they that rise up against me.

2 Many there be which say of my soul,
There is no help for him in God. Selah.

3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me;
my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

8 Salvation belongeth unto the Lord:
thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
"
(Psalm 3:1-3, 8, KJV)

Oh, Lord, the hordes grow more and more.
Their armies tempt me, "Fear!"
They rise and stand before, before
the things, that I hold dear.

How many say of my lone soul,
"He has no help in God"!
Just wait and contemplate this gold,
and smile at Him so broad.

But You, my God, are shielding me,
my Glorious Defense.
You lift my head Your Eyes to see.
I give you reverence.

Salvation comes from God Alone.
You bless Your people, too.
I think about Your lasting Throne,
which made my hope anew.

The future's hope is never kind
to those, who look
at earthly books
for human hearts have been born blind.
The future's hope has been restored
to those, who see
the mystery.
The saving Lord, now, is adored.

Garlands hang,
twinkling lights revive,
crafts and Christmas mingle here.

Christmas trees,
wrapping paper, cards,
candy canes and wreaths adorn.

Storage place,
color streams about,
wondrous gifts inspiring new.

Thoughts, peaceful moments from long ago,
refreshing respite greets living, now.
