I didn't realize I would receive gift points for rating and reviewing pieces. I just couldn't sleep and decided to read some work by other writers on this site. I am completely blown away by the caliber of some of the pieces! And as such I was compelled to say so. I just wanted it put out into the universe that there is some excellent writing happening on this site. I didn't expect any reward for enthusiastically complementing others. The 5-star reviews were sincere and heartfelt, as I felt humbled and awed by these writers' skill. I couldn't NOT say something!

Having said all that... it may eventually come to someone's attention that the only reviews I've offered are 5-stars. And they may come to the erroneous conclusion that I ONLY give 5-star reviews. This is only partly true. I will only comment on, and rate, pieces that move me to do so. I might read 5000 pieces but I will only rate and review the ones I'm super impressed by. That's because I'm not a reviewer, and I don't want to inadvertently quash anyone's enthusiasm for writing. I'm not a teacher and I don't feel qualified to tell anyone where to improve. Moreover, I'm super lazy -- just being honest! I do not ever expect reviews of my work, so I'm not trying to be a hypocrite. I just know what I like, and I don't mind sharing positive feedback.

Sorry, this turned into a weird soliloquy and I'm not sure what my goal was in writing it. It's almost 3am and I think I can get to sleep now tho, so, um, thank you and goodnight!

Reviews are always appreciated, i even appreciate the low star ones as long as the comments are helpful. People are here to improve their writing but some do not take criticism well and you are probably in the right headspace to only review the ones that really move you. If you are looking for random reads they reward you even more than ones chosen by browsing types or genre's click on the read and review for those.
