In the upper right corner is an arrow thingy. Click that, then Edit Note. A window will pop up below your Newsfeed note. Edit there. When you save your edit, if you see you need to edit again, you need to refresh the page 1st. Plenty of experience with that, myself.
To post a link to your item, you need the item number. If you recently created or edited it, it will automatically appear after the colon in the code. Otherwise, you can copy the item number from the outside of it when the item is closed or the top in the item when it's open.
You use braces, just above brackets, to create the code. The 2 most common ones are demonstrated below using my challenge... because I'm lazy and it automatically pops up for me.
