The Eyes

Name a disease to say it's only your eyes that burn, when you know that isn't true. Black smoke seeps through the cracks. You blow it away, far away from you. I can't even say that it's you I see. Wave this way, speak, at least reach out to me. What are you moaning? The smoke burns your eyes? I'm blinded too love. Were both going to die.

I fixed the tense to all present. And took out some unnecessary sentences. Wow this is hard.

I wrote it about eight years ago. I changed the title from "Struck by a Purpose" to "Struck by Fright. Boy did it need editing, grammar corrections, punctuation corrections, the whole nine yards. I hope you like it.
