ARI: Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Aspen: Dead probably.
Ari: Same. I feel as if I’m going to hit a peak in my life and once I realize that I have a good thing going, I’ll immediately try to sabotage myself and then kill myself and die and that could possibly be the end of me.
Aspen: I’m experiencing the peak of my life right now and I’m sad and that scares me. Once I graduate high school, there will be no value to me and I’ll be sad and wrinkly.
Ari: Pshh..There will be value to you even when you’re sad and wrinkly. You can teach young preteens how to properly brand themselves on instagram.
Aspen: (Smiles) What are you passionate about, Ari
Ari: I think I told you this when Mayla first introduced me to you. I love film. I live for it. I live for that silver screen. It’s all I want to do. I don’t care if my job is just to mop the set, I will do anything to be a part of the creation process. Knowing that I could someday become a filmmaker is the main reason why I haven’t offed myself yet. I lovvee it. I love it.
ARI: Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Aspen: Dead probably.
Ari: Same. I feel as if I’m going to hit a peak in my life and once I realize that I have a good thing going, I’ll immediately try to sabotage myself and that could possibly be the end of me.
Aspen: I’m experiencing the peak of my life right now and I’m still sad. And once I graduate high school, there will be no value to me and I’ll be sad and also old.
Ari: I hope to be old one day. All I is to one day be a super hip grandma and just totally immerse myself in senior citizen culture.
Aspen: I’ll kill myself before I get old. Or at least pay doctors to put me in a coma and then harvest my organs so my body can be put to some sort of use.
Ari: At least you’re thinking of others. That’s good.
ASPEN+ARI: Insecure, does not care about religion, believes in honesty, hate themselves to a certain degree, complicated relationships with parents
ASPEN: A partier, confident, free spirit, constantly going out, rarely at home, believes that the best years of her life are happening right now, passive aggressive but creates the impression that she is straight forward, manipulative, a bit of a stoner, calls herself "straight edge"
ARI: Well read, anxious, goofy, naaive, spends majority of free time inside, believes the best years of her life are in the future.

DIFFERENCES/dealbreakers.
Aspen tells Ari that she cheated on her final exam.
Aspen tells Ari that she’s been smoking that kush though.
Ari is being a nervous wreck
Aris life consists of lounging around and Aspen is always partying
Aspen is so much more edgy than Ari. They come from different worlds.
Polyamory?

Aspens arrival
Opening conversation- charming at first. discussing previous encounters
Oh by the way..
Apology for theatre incedent
Anyway..
Whats been going on- Ari has been painting, spending most of time inside and walking and occasionally going out to the movie theatres
Speaking of movies..
Getting to know you- what’s your favorite movie? Im suchhhh a movie guru. And ari dosent know any of the horror and or sci fi movies that aspen adores so much. So much for being a movie guru ari you big jerk. Ari mentions the shining because it’s the only scary movie that she knows.
Whats been going on with aspen- partying, not being home in a while . reeses issues .
Ari says that she’s glad they are hanging out.

(Ari looks out the window; anxious of Aspens arrival. She is wearing a sweater over a button down. Typical baby dyke fashion. Ari is a nerd. She looks in the mirror and realizes this. Shot of her looking at the mirror again but this time, she’s in a super hip and cool Lana Del Rey shirt. She figures that it would be a nice conversation starter. She is still a nerd though.
Typical last minute chores. Ari is nervous. She just wants to keep busy and do s***. Brushing teeth, putting on makeup, cleaning room, making bed, arranging her window side plants, turning on lava lamp, etc.

Ari looks out the window again and sees a car pull into the drive way.
Shot of Ari opening the door. And there is Aspen with her overnight bags in hand, only slightly beaming. Ari greets her and helps her with her bags. Aspen compliments her shirt. Aspen guides her upstairs to her room.)
(Shot of both of them sitting on the futon next to Ari’s bed. They sit on opposite ends of the futon. Aspens bags are next to her. Aspen opens her bag to take out her phone for a second and then turns it off and put in in her back pocket and looks around the room. )
ASPENS
Your room is cool.
There's a reason that Aspen is somewhat drawn to Ari. Aspen just doesn't go to random peoples houses. Don't make Ari this generic quirky and bland character. Aspen is drawn to her sense of humor and her sense of self and her openness.
Make Aspen have a fake ID btw. make her edgy. She so edgy and flawed and also flawless.
LINE FOR ARI IDEA: "I respect you not only as a human being but also a woman, a U.S citizen, an (looks at fake ID) Organ donor."
keep everything in the perspective of Ari and only go to Aspens perspective at the end
Ari and Aspen watching the shining at the end of the bed. Aspen keeps glancing at het phone. The brightness of the screen and a small lamp light the room.
w/ Parent scene after Aspen leaves: "Honey. please don't use your tablet on your bed.
Yes, Ari is based on you. But find an actress who can portray her in their own way.
Shot: Glimpses of intimacy. Show the nervous energy and the slight attraction without using words
