Sorry I have been away for so long, but my mother (the reason I write) passed away back in November. She lost her battle with cancer. I was there in Arizona in the end and have had trouble doing anything except work and sleep. I am back now, because I will keep my promise to her.

I am terribly sorry for my lack of contact with anyone I know.

I'm sorry for your loss. *Sad*
I am very sorry that I haven't been online lately. My mother has been very ill and is now in hospice. I am actually sitting in her house waiting for her to pass. If you don't know, she made me promise (when her mother passed away) that I would never stop writing. I will never stop. I don't care if anyone ever reads my stuff, I won't stop. I told her again that I won't stop, and she smiled at me.
This is a difficult time for you.
You are in my thoughts Robert Stuart .
Hey, can anyone tell me how I can find my buddy on this site? He just signed up yesterday and I tried searching for him but can't find him. Any help on this would be great!

While I am waiting on all my friends on WDC to fill my email with the love of Mother, I have just sent it in to Glimmer Train Press for its short story contest. Wish me luck!

The last time I posted this story was right after I found it on a thumb drive I thought I had lost, and I had a great deal of reviews and comments about it.

This time, I rewrote it after agreeing, or disagreeing, with the suggestions and comments, and I have only received 2 actual comments. I'm thinking that I did something wrong this time! I am kind of computer illiterate you know and I need a 12 year old to help me with my "smart" phone!

Anyway, I found out that people seem to actually read the stuff I post on here, so I'm going to drop it here and see! I really, really like to hear from people that read my stories! Honestly, I get a huge grin on my face when somebody tells me how much they liked it, or didn't.

I actually first wrote this when I was stationed in Sadr City Iraq on a notebook I got from a care package. I wrote it for a contest, but I didn't win. Combat is probably not very conducive to good writing and grammar, so now I have rewritten it.

There is a good reason I am being vague about the story! I am looking for people to just read it and tell me what they think.

Please read it and please, fill my email with comments!

Now that I know that people actually read my ranting's, I'm now curious. What is everyone's writing "process"? I do some weird things because my mind doesn't stop. For example, when I'm coming up with a new idea, I use an actual pen and paper. Not just any pen, one of those fountain pens you have to buy ink cartridges for. I have to because if I don't force my mind to slow down (concentrating on my hand writing, so I can decipher it later) I would sit staring at a wall for four hours while my mind starts with the story idea, then starts chasing unicorns, rainbows, and some fuzzy brown under a log!
Also, what word processor do you guys use? I almost exclusively use Scrivner, and even paid for it! The way it's set up helps me keep my mind from playing with the fuzzy brown thing again.
Seriously, I'm curious.
I have no idea if anyone is reading this, so, if you are, shoot me a message to let me know. I'm just curious.
Anyway, I have had a really crappy month, as far as writing goes, this month. Between getting my van up and running, spring cleaning, and doing some much needed yard work, I haven't had much time to do any writing. So, if you read my short story, you know that I had started to do a rewrite of it. I am sitting here right now looking at the printout and I am going to finish it this weekend so I can move on to other stories. My poor brain is exploding right now because I haven't sat done to write any of the stuff that has popped in lately. Unfortunately, I have to work early in the morning so, yet again, I have to put everything on the back burner until tomorrow. I have, however, told everyone that I will be unavailable until Monday. So, I will be finishing the rewrite!
Hello anyone listening, I'm excited to say that I will be in Arizona next for vacation!

I actually love reviewing! I love to read and I know that I could always use some helpful criticism when I write. When I read, or even when I watch movies, I usually get some crazy ideas. Problem is, that's all I've done for so long that I don't get motivated to do any writing. I'm hoping that this site will help me "put pen to paper".
