Ode to Mother

While I wait for dawn to break.
my thoughts are with you.

While I wait to cross this threshold
with my heart ,I thank you.

You've shown me the way
to where I wanted to be.

And it began with walks you took me on
when I was only three.

Happy anniversary
I have recently undergone neck surgery and a week later prostate surgery. I'm doing well and am on the mend. I hope soon , to be writing again.
I've added a new item to my portfolio:

A poem about life on a little river
I just finished and submitted to my portfolio a poem of mine. I hope you like it . It's called , Angel in the Snow.
I've been in and out of the hospital nothing too awfully serious , just dealing with skeletal pain . I've written a short story and will be writing it up for all to see hopefully soon. Thought I'd let you know , I'm ok.

Destiny

On this day these things are told
that man shall no longer hold
the key to his destiny.

From now 'til the end of time
these things shall come to pass:
Famine, like a raging sea and
torrents of pestilence will come to be.

Man will cry out from hunger and shame
for there will be no one to blame.

Night will fall and light will never be ,
at least for a time , a time that will seem like eternity.

Earth Mother has been slain but far from dead.
Lay your hand upon her head and pray , for your forgiveness , through ignorance of careless abandon, she has nearly died and all for foolish pride of monetary man ; a man without a guide.
Hello,
I'm new here , I write poetry and short stories. I lost my wife of 17 1/2 years to lung cancer 3 years ago. I'm still in the process of recovering from the loss.I also paint.
I'll be back from time to time with my writings or the ramblings of a mad man.
