Good poem overall. Interesting subject matter. Rhyming was consistent.
Suggestions:
"I" should always be capitalized (you're important aren't you? :)
I strongly suggest you always read your written work back to yourself out loud. This way you can see any sentence structure needs fixing.
Also, with poems especially rhyming poems you should hear a certain rhythm to it, like in music. You may want to shorten some sentences to have a matching rhythm throughout the poem.
People say go with your first thought, so when I read "where are you from", I immediately voted Australia. That's where I was born and raised. After I voted , I realized you probably meant where am I living now, which would be America (more than 25 years)!
