This poem is simply beautiful. beautiful in its storytelling, in its rhyming and in its sadness.
It touches the heart and makes the reader ponder over it.

I quite like your poem. A second really is all it takes to change a life. My favourite line is "it is a second that decides victory and it is that very second that decides defeat" - very true.
