Heh Heh heh, this piece cracked me up. There are time that I wish my head was off too. I certainly identify with the chicken. Great piece and way too funny . Just a terrific piece. I really identify with this piece. I have a friend named Nance who I write a lot about and post on WDC. She is alcoholic and leads a secret life like the man in your poem. The outside looks oh so good and she has it all going on, good looks, great career, respect of her peers, money etc and she also has this terrible deep dark side to her that is just killing her and that she tries to hide form everyone else. You write with such passion and feeling and I have a great deal of respect for that.

I enjoyed this terse poem. The twist at the end was beautifully done. My favorite part is the last verse
It has been sharpened to perfection
Cleaned and polished unitl it shined
Yet still I see it dripping in blood
The blade that is his smile.
Fortunely this type or reaction mellows with age as experience and wisdom grow. Again nicely done kudos to you for a fine effort
