Great poem! We do seem to need to practice generic grief with a redemptive spin at regular intervals to ready ourselves for our own terrible stuff. I love the concise way you reconstructed the way the viewer breaks. I've experienced that exactly. The line with " a kind of divinity that never wears thin " is my favorite.
I love it. The images are beautiful and the writing is straightforward and calm like a day on the water. I had a fishing dad myself and a sister too, so your poem really hits my heart.
