Review of THE HERO IN YOU
Review by Rod Emmons
Rated: E | (5.0)
Hi Moreana.

I am happy to review your poem, "The hero In You," and am flattered that you would ask.

First, I'll respond to it technically. Though I'm no one to judge poetry, one of my silent critisms of much of what I read in here is that it doesn't flow, it lacks meter. Your poem, "Hero," has excellent meter. Read silently or aloud, it flows with great fluidity. To me, that's important. Your rhyming is excellent, too. No one needs to stretch a word to hear the rhyming.

But of greater significance is the message, and what a wonderful tribute to your son. From time to time, I read a poem that seems as though it were written divinely - by the hand of god - and such is the case with this piece. Clearly, you were truly inspired, and to me that is what poetry should be, inspired.

I congratulate you technically, but more important, I congratualte you for finding just the right words to express your feelings in such a loving and thoughtful way. I'm pleased to give this poem five stars, and I look forward to more inspiration from the soul by which you write.

Review of Orange glove
Review by Rod Emmons
Rated: ASR | (4.5)
Dear Snow Lake,

I'm am using this story as a review tool after finding you via the Plug Page and a listing created by on of your admirers. However, since reading "Orange Glove," I have actually reviewed your entire portfolio, and the following comments are more directed to your overall work than the above.

First, I want you to know that I have now added you to my Favorite Authors list. I am profoundly moved by your writing, even your poetry, a genre I only rarely enjoy. Your descriptive devises are extraordinary. You give me taste, feel and sight. Either directly or by implicity, it is as though I can feel the emotions of your characters.

Your stories are poignent. Your only shortcoming is that you make me want more - not just of your writing, but of the story, itself. This is most true of your Russian stories.

I hope you will one day soon be inspired to write a novel - your Dr. Shivago - possibly about the journey of life for a young Russian girl who finds her way beyond her circumstance and into the word beyond, maybe like yourself; about her trials, her encounters, her misgivings, her triumphs, her disappointments. You have been given the gift of words coupled with the gift of experience. I am confident that when you wish, your market awaits you.

Here's to that moment. May it be soon.
