I won't give my opinion on who's right and wrong, but I enjoyed the piece immensely. It was very well laid out and had a good flow to it.

There were some punctuation errors. Mostly absent commas.

The title was eye-catching. This is a wonderful essay.

I love writings that start with a quote. The prose was easy to read and had a natural flow to it. This is something I would print and keep it as a handy reminder to look "up instead of down" when bad things happen.

Overall, I felt a great sense of peace reading this.

I really liked your story. It was intriguing and kept me reading.

The only things I recommend are:

When I do open my eyes again finally
(I would move "finally" to a different spot. When I finally open my eyes again

I sleep, as soundly as the ground beneath me (I would leave out the comma)

just turning over in my hands. (Don't know if this should be "just turning it over in my hands")

Did you mean to Capitalize the "I" in Inhuman?

My son just moved into his first apartment and I can see him doing the same thing. I thoroughly enjoyed the humor in this, and it's driving me crazy to know what the noise is. Your writing is smooth and easy to read. You dialogue is delightful and realistic. Thanks for a great read!

I loved this, especially your first paragraph. Other than a few spelling and grammar errors, it's solid writing. It has a good flow to it.

The only thing I found grammatically incorrect was in paragraph 9. I believe that there should be a comma after "complacent."

It's wonderful how you've turned a horrible condition into beautiful prose. I completely understood the message you were sending. I believe anyone who hasn’t been through depression would be able to experience it in some way themselves because your descriptions are so powerful.

Your recovery paragraph in which you expressed your need to heal was exhilarating. I loved your description of finding the strength to pull yourself up and go on. Fantastic writing!
