Cool story- it was well written, entertaining and gave a feeling of uneasiness.

I worked in the medical field for 12 years and have always had a love and fascination for anything medical. You captured the language and the feeling of something real and turned it into a nightmare.

I like your writing style, it is inspiring. Good job, keep writing.

I thought this poem was cute. I like short little poems like this that are sometimes quick to the point, and it did make me smile. Keep writing.

for entry "House of the Artist
Rated: E | (5.0)
Hello,

I thought this was a good, thoughtful entry. It was written

well and I enjoyed learning about your client who turned her hobby

and passion into something that others also enjoy. I consider

myself to be somewhat of an artist and I would love to be able to

do what I love (mostly writing) for a living and was able to

relate to her through art. It always makes me happy when I learn

about other people who are a lot like me, and I feel a little less

lonely.

I can also relate to her with her job of working in a

hospital. I wasn't a nurse, but I worked in healthcare for twelve

years. I started in a hospital working in the lab as a

phlebotomist. I worked directly with patients in the hospital and

three of the local nursing homes which we'd visit at five in the

morning, (one a day) three days a week. I also worked closely with

nurses all over the hospital, especially the ER, then went on to

some work for some very notable doctors for very rich patients,

taking care of their needs and whatever the doctors ordered for

them.

I've worked with people from all walks of life, and there is

nothing like seeing someone who lives a life of luxury, often

looking down on people "below" them- turn to mush, and beg you- a

poor medical assistant with two kids and living with her parents,

to help them because now they think you're the best assistant

they've ever met. It is a feeling that at the same time is

wonderful, scary, sad and most of all one of the most humbling

experiences anyone could have. Even better, it's not a temporary

feeling of humbleness, or a stupid humble-brag because it's

trendy. It is one of those rare life-changing experiences that

sticks with you for forever.

I cannot, and probably will not ever relate to a life of that

kind of luxury. I can't even really imagine it. I do feel that

when you come from a background in healthcare, especially like

your client who worked directly with sick, scared, dying, bleeding

and traumatized people- there is pretty much nothing that can

truly over-ride that piece of your soul that's been stamped with

so many others hearts.

Thank you for this post. It was a nice story that asks the

reader a good thought provoking question. Reading about this

artist reminded me of how much I miss working in a hospital but

at the same time, I am happy for all the other experiences and

and lessons that have led me to this point in my life looking

forward to what may come next.

Nice story, good questions-good job! Keep writing.

Warm Winter Vibes,

Leigh

Hello,

I thought this was a neat poll! It's also the first one I have voted on, as

I am still new here and getting to know my way around. I just received an

amazing and unexpected gift of a paid membership and looking at the details

learned I can now create polls, so I strolled on over here to see what they were

like.

The more I read and explore the more excited I get, and your poll was simple,

one that is fun for anyone to be able to vote on and the writing was well

thought out, and nicely done! I also enjoyed the images and your font colors and

choices.

Thank you for this poll, it was interesting to learn a little more about this

awesome community.

Hello,

I thought your essay was very well thought out and well written.

I am a new member here and haven't had a lot of time to really get into things,

mostly out of shyness, but so far have found the few people I've interacted

with to be very kind and helpful with their reviews and advice. So far I enjoy

it very much and didn't know things like that would go on to that degree, but

your essay was very informative and I think serves as a good reminder to the

people here and anywhere else.

Hopefully, it was just an innocent mistake and everyone learned or was

reminded of something valuable, and I do hope that there has been a positive

resolution and apology.

Keep writing and being active,

Leigh

Hello Ray, I think this was a very good poem. I like to write in free verse a lot. This is the second writing of yours that I have read, the other one is "Writer's Block", and I think you have a very good writing style, your descriptions give clear, strong visuals and everything is beautifully written.

I don't know why this is the last free verse you'll write, but if you do write more I would love to read it.

Happy writing,

Leigh

Great story! It was very scary and realistic, I was on edge the whole time I was reading it.
I felt myself really relating to the main character, and I could not stand Carolyn! which just means it is very well written.
Everything I love in a good story, nicely done.

Keep writing!
