Such a bittersweet story. I love that it starts with a tradition and the wonderful description that follows. It was amazing that not only did it start a new tradition with a new letter beginning for his future son but that he still had the shot gun that had been his fathers and his great-grandfathers. It is something that all of us can relate to in one way or another because we all have traditions in our own family's and many new have been started. Instead of just telling the reader about them you in some aspects showed it. It could have been further shown but was a very emotional and heart warming bittersweet story.
