This is excellent! The emotion that accompanies the story is so realistic you can feel the confusion and pain of both characters. The comparison of real-life with the romantic movie is both cynical and completely true. Questions are left dangling and make the reader want to hear more from both characters.
Your story has great potential. I really like the idea that it is from a long time ago, in a period that we know nothing about. However, because it is taking place so long ago, you may want to describe the setting a little more instead of simply telling everything that is happening. A few of the details are superfluous and could be edited to make a bigger impact on the reader. Overall, I feel that your story has a great start and I can't wait to read more!
I really like the simpleness of the statements made through this poem. Poetry is indeed a calling, one which I have trouble answering. I also agree that poetry can be very personal and your soul is exposed to your readers. This piece makes the reader think about the idea of poetry itself, beyond the work of the author.
