This was interesting and compelling despite its brevity...the ending was a bit unexpected, and something about the story reminded me of Tanith Lee or Angela Carter's fairy tales, albeit with a different writing style. I think the best part was the plot itself, the substance rather than style. The weak spot (in my opinion) would be the style, not the substance; I think a more careful choice of words to create a desired effect and more descriptions would add so much to this. This is very good!
I thoroughly enjoyed this short story. Something about it definitely reminds me of Edgar Allan Poe, the descriptive language was good but not overdone and it draws you in, much like the siren's song. There's nothing I can really see here that needs improving. Bravo!
Wow. I don't see a lot of good poetry nowadays, but this one is beautiful and flows well. I don't read a great deal of Poe's poetry, but this poem is similar in atmosphere, if not in aesthetics (but the aesthetics are lovely nevertheless). Nice use of imagery. You might like to put your poetry on a poetry website called Hello Poetry, I rather like it because it has no adverts and there's not a problem with art theft like there is with other sites. I look forward to seeing more poetry from you, keep up the good work!
