This was a very interesting story. It said a lot when Tick expressed how he didn't need the help. He really did need others but not willing to admit it.Your story told a lot about feelings and reading between the lines.
Yes the temperatures in Las Vegas are dreadful. You do have the city glitz and glamour as you seem to crave. It sounds like you came from a small southern town without a whole lot of excitement. I am from Reno Nv but have a lot of family in Las Vegas. My oldest is one of your firefighters. The heat can be very dragging. This was a very good expression of your feelings. Good Luck to you. J
