Another amazing chapter- I love the different perspective description of Leila, she sounds beautiful. I can't wait to see what Dekker might have in store for the tale, and I know Leila must give him hell at some point. I'm excited to see if a romance might blossom :)
Can't wait to see what might be in store. I have a feeling Trent's sister might be a trouble maker, especially with Jeremy. Great writing- keep up the good work!
I've been on writing.com for about 4 years, but I'm still a big newbie. My account may be old but I've never really invested any time until now. I've started a new writing project that I'd love for people to just read. Even if people don't want to review it, I just like to know that people are reading.
My tale is about 19 year old Eve. When Eve was 17, the "special relationship" between Britain and the USA severed and a massive war errupted, resulting in the end of the UK as it was known. British citizens that haven't been locked away are hunted by the US soldiers.
Eve lives in a colony lead by the protective but controversial Noreen. Noreen's ambition is survival at any cost- no matter who she might have to sacrifice on the way. When Eve's unofficial protector and friend Jordan leaves her abandoned and banished from the colony after an unlucky night, she is thrust into the dangerous world alone, and the survival rates are very low.
When stumbling through the never ending forest, Eve finds herself strung up in a trap, and at gunpoint by the most unlikely of characters...
Brilliant chapter! You've left me wanting more as soon as I reached the end. I especially love this section:
"He was staring at the floor, his shoulders were slumped, he looked different, he looked…sad.
“David?” I whispered. He looked up. His face was tired and beat down, dark rings circled around his blue eyes. They were glossy, as if he had been crying and he wasn’t wearing his cunning smile anymore. I shifted closer to him, and then threw my arms around him along with all of my weight. He stifled a laugh and hugged me back. I loved David, he was more than just my protector, he was my friend and sure, we weren’t in the same family tree, he was my family".
Keep writing! Looking forward to reading the rest :D
