I love this! It speaks to a lot of reasons why my marriage failed, and I'm certain its a similar experience shared by many others. So many times we hold people to standards unstated, or allow their actions to affect our relationship. But then you look back and think "I never really told them this was an issue with me".
I liked the vivid descriptors used in this piece. There are moments where I can actually feel the hollowness of the protagonist. Unfortunately, her apathy seems to come out the story and into the reader..leaving me feeling uninterested in the conclusion of the story. Maybe I missed something. You did a very good job of fleshing out the emotions..or lack thereof of the characters however.
