I had to read the story twice so that I could enjoy it more, feel the words and characters more because Like Water on Fire was one of the best short stories I've read in WDC so far. I was taken by the plot, by Angela and the Angel. I couldn't stop reading. Some errors here and there but that didn't matter. The storytelling was compelling and the Angel's eyes and behavior, intriguing.
In the worst of all my crises, my family and friends were not really there for me and I would have loved to have such an Angel yet without the violence. I needed to know someone was really there with me for the inevitable; for the shipwreck. I faced my voyage with dignity and courage and transformed my pain into action and victory; as well as victory for others. Your story made me think of survival, mistakes, opportunities and knowledge; we should not let life slip through our fingers, no matter what, but realize the real meaning of our lives. You tried to show that everything is one and not to forget to follow your personal legend through to the very end. A wonderful story. Judge Stanley
